The costs

Every cost in a copy

A copy has more than one price. Three charges belong to the strategy provider and have a printed cap; the platform takes a share of those; the broker and the payment route add charges that the pages read give no rate for. This page puts all seven in one table and then takes them one at a time. Source: the fees page and the introduction page of cTrader Copy, read on 6 November 2026.

Seven charges on one table

The last column names the help page that states the charge. A dash means that none of the pages read states it. Readings: help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy/fees-calculation, help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy, read on 6 November 2026.

The three provider fees

The help page says providers can offer strategies for copying on a free basis, while some strategies involve fees: a performance fee, a management fee and a volume fee, "in any combination depending on the strategy provider's preferences". The performance fee is a percentage of the investor's net profit, calculated by the high-water mark model, with a printed maximum of 40%. A high-water mark is the highest value the account has reached; a fee on profit is charged on the part above it. The management fee is a periodic payment "regardless of the strategy performance", set as an annual percentage of equity and accrued daily, with a printed maximum of 10%. The volume fee is an amount per million of volume copied, calculated per side, with a printed maximum of USD 10; the page's example is USD 10 on opening and USD 10 on closing for a copied USD 1 million.

The help page's own example, with the arithmetic

Inputs are the page's: USD 1,000 allocated, performance fee 10%, management fee 5%, volume fee USD 5 per million, USD 700 net profit, one lot of EURUSD quoted 1.19/1.19. Source: help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy/fees-calculation, read on 6 November 2026.

FeeWorkingResult (USD)
Performance700 × 0.1070
Management, one year1,000 × 0.0550
Management, one day1,000 × 0.05 ÷ 3650.14
Volume, one lot opened and closed1.19 × 100,000 ÷ 10^6 × 5 × 21.19

What the example shows

With the page's own inputs the performance fee is USD 70, which is 7.0% of the allocation, and the management fee is USD 50 for a year, 5.0%. The volume fee of USD 1.19 is for one lot only. These are the page's inputs, chosen to demonstrate the arithmetic; the page does not say how long the USD 700 of profit took. This site publishes no typical fee and none of any strategy.

The platform's share

The fees page adds that from 4 July 2026 cTrader charges a 30% commission on all fees earned by the strategy provider, deducted automatically from the provider's fees. In its example the provider's fees are USD 30, the commission is USD 9 and the provider receives USD 21. For the investor nothing changes: the page says it "adds no extra charge for investors". The effect, if any, is on what a provider keeps, and that is a matter for the provider.

The charges that have no rate on these pages

The overview page's history example shows two ledgers for the same trades, the provider's and the investor's, and every line carries a commission figure; on the matching trades the investor's figure is the smaller one. That shows that commission exists on both sides. It is not a rate. No page read states what FxPro charges as spread or commission on a copied trade. Overnight financing is a charge or credit some brokers apply when a position is held past the end of the trading day; no page read states whether or how FxPro applies it. Conversion is the same: the fees page says the copy-trading fees are converted automatically to the provider's currency, and says nothing of the follower's deposit. These three are the lines to ask FxPro about.

When each fee is charged

From the fees page and the investing page, read on 6 November 2026. The two pages word the case of removing funds differently; both sentences are given.

TriggerWhat the page says
The 1st of each month"All fees regardless of their type are charged to the investor's copy-trading account"; the payout to the provider follows immediately.
The provider stops the strategyAll investors stop copying, open positions are closed and unrealised fees are charged after that.
The investor stops copyingPositions are closed and the unrealised performance and management fees are charged; the Stop copying window shows the approximate amount first.
The investor removes funds (fees page)"All fees will be charged at once and in full."
The investor removes funds (investing page)A certain amount of unrealised performance and management fees "can be realised proportionally to the withdrawn amount", shown at the bottom of the Remove funds window.

Where a reader sees the charges afterwards

The investing page says performance and management fees appear in the Transactions tab of the copy-trading account, the volume fee in the History tab, and the unrealised volume fee in the Positions tab. The volume columns are switched off by default and can be enabled with a right-click on a column heading. A fee changed by the provider is applied only after the strategy has been stopped and no investors are copying it, and "new fees will be applied to the investors only after they restart copying". So a fee shown on the Start copying button is the one the copy runs under until the investor stops it.

Questions about the machine and its costs

Is there a fee for starting a copy?

The pages read name no fee for starting. The fees are the three above, and any charges of the broker.

Is a performance fee charged when the strategy loses?

It is defined as a percentage of net profit by the high-water mark model, so a loss does not raise it. The management and volume fees are charged on equity and on volume.

Does the platform's commission raise my cost?

The page says it is deducted from the provider's fees and adds no extra charge for investors.

Where do I find what the broker charges?

Not on the pages this site read. It is a question for the broker, and the broker's terms are the document to read.

The trading account behind this site

The broker this site links to

This site links to FxPro, which cTrader's list marks as a copy-enabled broker. A copied trade is a leveraged contract on a price, not ownership of anything. Whether the copy service is open to a resident of Kenya is a question for FxPro.
