Money in and out, and the shilling

There are two stretches of money in a copy. Inside the platform, between the main account, the copy-trading account and the provider, the help pages describe each movement. Between a bank or a mobile-money account in Kenya and the broker, they say nothing, and neither do the other pages this site read. This page keeps the two apart.
What this site did not read
This site did not read any funding page of FxPro, any bank's terms, any mobile-money provider's terms, or any Central Bank of Kenya rule on sending money abroad. It therefore states nothing about which payment routes exist, what they cost, how long they take or what limits apply. The FxPro page of this site carries one sentence that mentions a bank, a mobile-money provider and Central Bank requirements; it is a pointer to those documents, not a summary of them.
Currencies printed on the broker list
Number of the 24 copy brokers on ctrader.com/copy/brokers whose printed base currencies include the currency, read on 6 November 2026. The list prints the currencies of the account, not the ways of paying in.
| Currency | Brokers listing it |
|---|---|
| Kenyan shilling (KES) | 0 |
| US dollar (USD) | 24 |
| Euro (EUR) | 18 |
| Pound sterling (GBP) | 16 |
What the currency table does and does not say
None of the 24 brokers lists the Kenyan shilling. That is the whole statement: it is a count of printed currencies and it is not a statement that a resident cannot fund an account from shillings. FxPro's printed list is EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, AUD, ZAR, NGN, VND, THB, MYR, IDR. If an account is held in one of those currencies, shillings are converted somewhere on the way, by someone, at some rate. The pages read do not say where, by whom or at which rate, and the question is the one to put to FxPro and to the bank or provider that sends the money.
Where money moves inside a copy, and what the pages say
Only movements between the investor's own accounts and the provider's account are covered by the help pages. Sources: help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy/investing-in-strategies, help.ctrader.com/ctrader-copy/fees-calculation, read on 6 November 2026.
| Event | What moves | What the page says |
|---|---|---|
| Start copying | From the chosen account to a new copy-trading account | The allocated funds are deposited into a copy-trading account under the same cTID, used only for that strategy. |
| Add funds | From the original account to the copy-trading account | The amount cannot exceed what the original account holds; position sizes are recalculated. |
| Remove funds | Back to the account the funds came from | Sizes are recalculated and fees are charged as described on the costs page. |
| Equity stop loss triggers | All funds to the parent account | Copying stops and open positions are closed; the final equity may be below the level. |
| Stop copying | All funds to the main account | Open positions are closed first; a closed market can leave the status at Stopping until it opens. |
| Fee payout | From the investor's copy-trading account to the provider's account | A deposit from the broker to the provider's account, converted automatically to the provider's currency. |
Timing facts the pages do give
Fees are charged on the 1st of each month and at the events on the costs page. A stopped copy waits for a closed market to open before positions are closed; the account then shows the status Stopping, grey, until the positions are closed and the fees are charged. A "close only" status exists too: new positions are not copied, only closings are, "due to specific broker conditions", and the page tells the investor to contact the broker. The pages give no time for a withdrawal from the broker to a bank or a mobile account.
Questions the pages cannot answer
In which currency would the account be held? Who converts shillings into it, and is the rate a market rate or the converter's own? What does each side charge for paying in and for paying out? How long does a withdrawal take, and does it depend on the company's checks? Does the company accept money from a third party's account? Each is a fact in someone's terms, and none is on the pages this site read.

Questions about the machine and its costs
Does the broker list say which payment methods work from Kenya?
No. It prints a minimum deposit, a leverage, regulators, currencies and a few feature tags.
Can I put shillings into the copy-trading account?
The pages read describe allocation from another account of the investor, in that account's currency; they do not describe a shilling deposit.
Who pays the provider's fee, and in what currency?
The investor's copy-trading account pays; the fee is deposited to the provider's account and converted automatically to the provider's currency.
Where are the Kenyan rules on sending money abroad?
With the bodies that issue them. This site did not read them and states none.
The broker this site links to
This site links to FxPro, which cTrader's list marks as a copy-enabled broker. A copied trade is a leveraged contract on a price, not ownership of anything. Whether the copy service is open to a resident of Kenya is a question for FxPro.
